Our Inspiration, Carter!
Carter's Cupcakes was inspired by our 1 year old baby Carter who is not only profoundly deaf but also has Cerebral Palsy. Each week he attends numerous specialists appointments and amazes us with his strength and perseverance...but what is even more amazing is how he constantly has a huge smile on his face all while he is enduring these exhausting and often challenging appointments.
Being that he is now only 2 years old we do not know what to expect with regards to his future abilities. Right now he can not sit, crawl, walk, feed himself or talk. This past two years have been an incredible eye opener for our family - no one ever expects nor can prepare themselves for something like this and that is why we have registered Carter with Easter Seals, Mazol Shriners and Rainbow Riders. These organizations are non profit and are the ONLY organizations that have programs and services for babies like Carter that provide unconditional love and acceptance as well as support to families living in Newfoundland and Labrador Canada.
So why should you order from us? Besides being truly delicious! It is the mission of Carter's Cupcakes to raise funds for local children's charities. This means that a portion of profits earned (25% of total annual profit) will be directly donated to organizations that are helping thousands of families and children in this province! Each time someone buys even just one cupcake they are helping a special needs family...probably in their own community!
As a parent it is extremely difficult watching your child suffer thru anything, most times we are able to "kiss the boo boos" and "make it all better", in our case that will never work...it is the most helpless feeling in the world. This is why Carter's Cupcakes means so much to us...we know we are doing something meaningful and worthwhile that will help not only our baby but so many others like him.
Your family may not fall into the 3% of families in this country that have special needs children like ours but I HOPE you can see the critical need that these organizations provide to children across our province. There are strength in numbers and with a little bit from everyone we can make a HUGE contribution! Thank You!

Our fundraising projects in 2012:
-Carter's Daddy Todd rapelled in the Easter Seals 2012 Dropzone! Todd alone raised more than $8,000.00 for this worthy charity!
-Thank you to everyone who supported our Dee Jay Charter Canada Day Boat Tour! $500.00 was raised for Easter Seals!
-Thank you to everyone who supported our 2012 Mother's Day Fundraising Campaign! We received $1,100.00 in orders! 100% of this profit was DONATED to Easter Seals and The CHHA-NL!
-1st Annual Easter Seals Stroll and Roll campaign more than $750.00 was donated.
